TEHRAN (IQNA) – A Quran recitation session was held by a number of top Iraqi Quran reciters at Wadi-us-Salaam cemetery in the holy city of Najaf, Iraq, to commemorate Martyr Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, Martyr Qassem Soleimani and their Iranian and Iraqi companions who were assassinated by the US earlier this month.

The Quran Section of the Religious Affairs Office of Iraq’s Popular Mobilization Units (PMU), also known as Hashd al-Shaabi, organized the Quranic program near the grave of Martyr Al-Muhandis.

The program included recitation of some verses of Quran by Iraqi Qari Sayyed Yasir Al-Alaq, and a group Quran recitation by the “Hashd Al-Shaabi Martyrs” Group. It included Javad Al-Ka’bi, Ahmad Al-Husseini, Mahdi Al-Waili and Mortaza Al-Daraji.

Elegy recitations were also performed by Karrar Al-Shimri as another part of the program.

It was the third official Quranic session held to commemorate the resistance martyrs in Iraq.
